So often we hear the word wellness, but what does it actually mean? Wellness is often defined as ‘the state of well-being, in good health, while in pursuit of a goal’. Wellness is taking part in an active journey towards becoming the best version of yourself. It includes not only physical well-being, but also emotional, environmental, intellectual, financial, occupational, social, and spiritual well-being. A state of wellness incorporates all areas that impact your life and overall outlook. Wellness is an active pursuit where one becomes more aware of, and makes choices, that impact towards a healthier lifestyle. It is a dynamic process that moves one towards change and growth.
With this wellness journey, it is as though we are traveling along a long and winding road. One with many different signs to interpret, detours to take or avoid, with numerous potholes to miss. It is a well traveled road, where u-turns are often made as we realize that we have forgotten something valuable at our starting off point. But no matters the barriers that seem to come up along the way, we continue to get back on track and head towards our destination.
Keep foraging on that journey. Don't lose your way, and make it to your end goal.
